working
I'm trying to work in my studio as much as I can these days. I took a leap and have a show coming up in June at a local gallery & gift shop. I'm thrilled, with Oscar turning 1 at the end of the month I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel. While having a small baby is endlessly rewarding, it will be nice to get a little of me back. So, with help from family and friends I plan on being in my studio a lot these next few months. My first project is of course not for the show but a long overdue print for my husbands family. It's good to get my press working. Here are a few shots of the works in progress. Have more soon.

Ames Chapel
Last weekend we went up to Minneapolis for a family affair, it was great to get out of town. The main event was held in this chapel named after my Grandma's family. I had never seen the Ames Chapel or even heard of it before. Not being church going folks I wasn't surprised that I was unaware. It was beautiful, simple and small. A dark arched ceiling and the most ornate light fixtures. Felix and I took some photo's after the service.

ice walk
I finally got up the courage to take the boys out on the frozen lake. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, it was magical. It was fascinating seeing the ice fishing shanty towns, 4 wheelers and a kite-skater in the distance. Felix was in heaven, enough space to swing a stick and poke everything without me nagging him. We looked for polar bear tracks and shouted our names, just to have them come back to us in an echo. It was a great adventure.

new work
one of my new years resolutions is to start honoring my art. After taking January off, a necessary rest, I started to paint again. Hashing out ideas, looking around my world with more intention than before. I started another etsy shop with some old prints and the new paintings. It feels good, to have a few pokers in the fire again. Most of them are for my family, but there's a new one in for me too.
